SonarVision is now free
We have just made all the essential features of SonarVision free. We hope this will allow more users to benefit from precise guidance features.
Route editing and creation from our platform are now completely free. Anyone can now create as many routes as they want. You also have access to Automatic Routing in areas where pedestrian mapping is available on OpenStreetMap.
However, we need your support now more than ever. So if you appreciate what we are building, please consider one of the plans below.
Personal Subscription
This subscription costs €15 per month and allows you to actively contribute to the funding of SonarVision.
In return, we grant you some useful perks.
Existing perks:
High-definition Mapbox satellite basemap. This basemap is available worldwide and might allow your helper to prepare better routes in some areas.
Perks currently in development:
Sharing places and routes between users.
Exporting your GPS tracks in GPX format.
Importing GPX tracks to convert them into SonarVision routes.
Custom instructions.
AI features (obstacle recognition, route creation, surroundings description, etc.).
This subscription is non-binding and can be canceled at any time.
Our paid services
Mapping service
Automatic Routing is one of SonarVision’s most popular features. It allows you to generate accessible pedestrian routes instantly and independently. However, it only works in areas where all pedestrian paths—such as sidewalks and crosswalks—have been mapped on OpenStreetMap.
If the area where you want to use SonarVision is not mapped, we can take care of it for you. We offer this service starting at €480 to map an area of 0.5 square kilometers. A custom quote can be provided if you wish to cover a larger area.
Here are a few Paris-based comparisons to help you understand what 0.5 square kilometers represent:
Paris’s 1st arrondissement covers 1.83 square kilometers.
The Luxembourg Garden covers 0.25 square kilometers.
The Parc des Princes football field covers 0.007 square kilometers.
How does it work in practice?
We organize a quick meeting to define the area to be mapped.
We send you an invoice for payment.
Unless otherwise specified, the mapping is completed within two weeks.
You can then immediately start using Automatic Routing.
OpenStreetMap is a free, collaborative map—similar to Wikipedia, but for geographic data. The advantages are threefold:
Any mapping you get done on your behalf benefits all SonarVision users and all other applications that use this data.
The OpenStreetMap community actively maintains the map. For example, after construction work that modifies the roadway, corrections are usually made quickly on OpenStreetMap without SonarVision’s involvement.
You can ask any OpenStreetMap contributor to carry out this mapping. See our guide: Mapping on OpenStreetMap. Choosing our Mapping Package is a way to support us and guarantees high-quality work completed quickly.
Expert Guidance
The best SonarVision experience comes from being supported by a sighted helper. Here are some of the things they can do for you:
Route creation and customization. If you want to use a specific sidewalk or avoid a complex pedestrian area, your helper can modify your route in a couple clicks. In addition, to create a route outside areas where Automatic Routing work, you must ask your helper to draw it manually.
Precise placement of your addresses. It is often difficult to describe to a machine the exact place you want to go. Thanks to our tools, your helper can take the necessary time to place your address in the correct location, with great accuracy.
Correction of your recorded GPS tracks. Remove errors and artifacts from GPS tracks recorded with SonarVision to obtain the perfect route.
Understanding SonarVision’s features. Many of the technologies that make SonarVision possible are visual. By consulting our maps, videos, and guides, your helper can assist you in understanding and resolving issues that are difficult to tackle alone.
The Expert Guidance service is designed for users who want assistance from a SonarVision team expert for all of these tasks. This includes dedicated support if you encounter problems with the app or your routes.
We have tried to adapt our pricing to everyone’s needs:
The first month costs €180. This is a training period for new users. We teach you everything you need to know about SonarVision, prepare your first routes, and help you add all the addresses you need. We would also be happy to train a friend or loved one.
We offer a Bundle deal for the first month of Expert Guidance and the mapping package for €520. This discounted price gives you everything you need to get started with SonarVision in one package.
After the first month of training, you can extend your assistance for €60 per month. You can pause and resume your Expert Guidance subscription at any time.
Businesses and associations
If you represent an association or a company, you likely have different needs than an individual user.
Here’s what we can do for you:
Train your staff / beneficiaries to use SonarVision.
Map pedestrian ways in the area of your choice on OpenStreetMap. Automatic Routes will then be available to everyone for free in that area.
Handle the preparation of all routes for your staff / beneficiaries.
Create high-precision public routes that allow all SonarVision users to access your venue more easily thanks to our guidance.
Provide indoor navigation within your venue.
