Why are the app's beeps or instructions too quiet?
Last updated 19 days ago
When VoiceOver is active, iOS may automatically lower the volume of other apps. This feature is called audio attenuation.
How do I adjust audio attenuation?
Go to your iPhone’s Settings:
Réglages → Accessibilité → VoiceOver → Audio → Atténuation de l’audio
There you’ll find three options:
Off — App sounds are never muted.
While Speaking — Sounds are muted only when VoiceOver is speaking.
Always — Sounds are muted at all times while VoiceOver is active.
Important: If you choose “While Speaking” or “Always,” you must set the volume reduction level. If this percentage is too high, directional beeps and voice prompts will become inaudible.

For the best guidance, we recommend:
Select “While Speaking.”
Set the attenuation level to a maximum of 10% (or turn off the option by selecting “No”).
Do not change your VoiceOver settings outside the app
If you change the audio attenuation directly in the general settings, this setting will apply to all your apps. To maintain your daily usage habits while enjoying optimal comfort in SonarVision, you can create a VoiceOver Activity. (Create a VoiceOver setting specific to SonarVision )
This dedicated profile automatically applies the correct attenuation setting only when SonarVision is open. As soon as you exit the app, your iPhone instantly reverts to your usual VoiceOver preferences.
