Frequently Asked Questions

Why couldn't my automatic route be generated?

Last updated 19 days ago

Automatically generated routes depend entirely on the availability of OpenStreetMap pedestrian data in your area. If our route planner is able to create a route using only pedestrian paths, it will be offered to you directly. Otherwise, a notification will inform you that the route could not be generated automatically.

The data used comes frfrom OpenStreetMap, the world’s largest open-source mapping project. It’s a bit like Wikipedia, but for maps. For the past two years, we’ve been actively contributing to this database—particularly in Paris and Lyon—to improve the quality and coverage of accessible routes.

You can add data so that automatic routes become available in your area (see Improving Route Planner Results).
