Why was I unable to generate an automatic trip?

Last updated About 2 months ago

Automatic routes rely entirely on the availability of OpenStreetMap pedestrian data in your area. If our routing engine can generate a path that stays exclusively on pedestrian-friendly streets and crossings, it will offer that route automatically. If not, you’ll receive a warning letting you know that no automatic route could be created.

The data comes from OpenStreetMap, the world’s largest open-source mapping project. It is kind of like Wikipedia but for maps. For the past two years, we’ve been actively contributing to improve this dataset — mostly in France — to increase both the quality and the coverage of pedestrian routes.

You can also help enrich the data so that automatic routes become available in your area (see Cartographier sur OpenStreetMap).
